This checklist is to ensure that your space is ready for installation of the equipment ordered. Installation will not be scheduled until this checklist is properly completed.

Drain Requirements

See an example image at the bottom of this web page (Reference 1). NOTE: The drain hose is 1 1/2″ ID and 1 7/8″ OD. The drain is gravity-fed, there is no pump on the stainer. The drain rate that must be achieved for proper performance of the stainer is 4GPM. If you plan to place the stainer’s drain hose into a nearby sink basin, please be aware that the risk of a low water flow is high. The gravity-fed drain hose must be at a drop of 2″ for every 12″ of length

Water Inlet Requirements

NOTE: Water quality varies based on location. The hardness, temperature, pH balance, and sediments of your lab’s water source WILL have an impact on the equipment, as well as your staining quality. A filter may be fitted to the mains water if you wish, as long as it does not affect the water pressure requirement for the equipment.

There is a 3/4″ GHT (male garden hose fitting) water supply connection within 5 feet of where the slide stainer’s water inlet hookup will be

The water inlet pressure is within the acceptable range of: 18 psi to 80 psi

Water Flow(Required)

The water flow is a minimum of 2.1 GPM (gallons per minute)

Ventilation

The equipment is designed to be a self-contained ventilated system with an activated charcoal filter. However, connection to external exhaust is possible. Please refer to the equipment’s operator manual for more information, and if needed, the components necessary.
