You like your instrument, you’ve had it for years, and for the most part, it has given you many years of reliable service. Odds are you’ve even given it a name. However, lately, old Henry is having a hard time getting down to temperature, or your trusty tissue processor can’t get through a process without several errors. Instead of replacing your machine for a new or refurbished item, you can save your lab thousands of dollars by doing what we call a depot refurbishment.
Our refurbishment processes of histology instruments has been continually improving over almost 30 years, and we are able to effectively reset the lifespan on the instruments that we refurbish. We replace all wearables, tubing, suspicious electronics, compressors, print heads, LCD screens, drive cables, gaskets, o-rings, blade holders, refrigerant, fan motors, cap tubes, opto-sensors, grease, connectors, latches, springs, and many other whoosie-whatsies.
We’re so confident in your refurbished machines that we offer the same warranty as you would get if you purchased a brand new instrument – 1-year parts and labor.

How it works
Step 1: Contact us
Request a quote (look left)
Tell us what machine you have and a general idea of the current condition. Your sales representative may have a few questions regarding the model, errors, and service history.
Step 2: Get a quote
Receive a quote within 24 hours
After a quick phone conversation and/or email correspondence, your sales representative will generate a price quote for a full refurbishment of your own instrument. If the quote is in line with your budget, you just click accept on the quote and our operations team will jump into action to begin the process.
Step 3: Instrument Pickup
We’ll pick up your instrument
Our shipping coordinator will contact you to schedule and arrange for the pickup of your machine. We will send a crate (and pick-up crew if applicable) to pick up your machine from the lab. You just need to make sure it is unplugged and reagents are emptied. And please, don’t leave molten paraffin in the machine!
Step 4: Refurbishment
This is the fun part for us

Once your machine arrives at our facility, our team of highly skilled biomedical technicians and engineers will begin working immediately. Your machine will go through production for refurbishment just like any other machine of ours, getting the exact same refurbishment protocol. This process takes roughly 1-4 weeks depending on the model, any parts backorders, or the severity of the condition. But when it is complete, it will be in like-new condition, both functionally and cosmetically, passing through testing and quality control at OEM specifications. It cannot leave our facility unless it is operating like-new.
Step 5: Delivery
Fall in love all over again
Do you remember the first time you met? Head over heels, I bet. You’ll get to relive this moment all over again when you see your old friend restored. Not only will you get your machine back operating in like-new condition, but it will also come back with a 1-year parts and labor warranty, which is the same warranty you’d get if you purchased a brand new machine.
