Rankin supplies both new and professionally refurbished microtomes, reconditioned back to OEM specification. We reset the lifespan of used microtomes through a rigorous remanufacturing process by trained biomedical technicians.
Microtomes are used in histology labs to section tissue samples with a razor blade, typically 5-8 micrometers thick, for examination under a microscope. The samples that are cut on a microtome are formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples. Microtomes are utilized for the diagnosis of cancer or other pathologies within anatomic pathology.
For over 27 years, Rankin has supplied refurbished anatomic pathology lab equipment to thousands of university, hospital, research, industrial, commercial and in-office laboratories that perform diagnostic testing and research.
